1. What Is AQUASIL® ?

 

AQUASIL®  is a line of wastewater treatment products, developed and commercialized by AQUACHEM INC.  The products are stand-alone wastewater treatment materials and manufactured of non-hazardous ingredients.  The AQUASIL® products have high capacity for removing oil & grease, heavy metals, toxic organic substances, and other contaminants from waste streams.

 

2. How Does AQUASIL® Work ?

 

The AQUASIL®  treatment makes use of synergism and fast kinetics where the product reacts to break oil/water emulsion, takes up heavy metals, suspended solids and other contaminants; all simultaneously and often without pH adjustment. The reaction is fast and the treatment produces much less sludge  than conventional hydroxide precipitation techniques.

 

3. What Are The Typical Contaminants AQUASIL® Removes ?

  • Heavy Metals - Aluminum, cadmium, chromium (III), copper, iron, lead,  mercury, nickel, zinc, etc.

  • Oil & Grease – AQUASIL® products are excellent emulsion breakers, capable of taking up FOG at levels as high as 5%

  • Organics –PCB, phenolics, detergent, surfactants, waxes, latex, paint, etc.

  • Inorganics - carbonate, phosphate, fluoride, sulfate

  • Suspended solids

 

4. What Are Some Of The Unique Contaminants AQUASIL® Removes ?

9. Is Treated Water Recyclable ?

 

Treated water is recyclable, especially for use as process water. Depending on the type of industry and set-up, treated water can be recycled/reused, and zero discharge is possible.

 
 
 
 
 

10. How Economical Is AQUASIL® ?

 

Like any treatment process, the cost of wastewater treatment and waste disposal must be taken into consideration. For AQUASIL® Technology, cost reducing parameters are:
